Call to Order
- Called to order at 12:50 pm
on Thursday August 17, 2006 at Francesco’s Restaurant in Oakland,
CA
by Marty
Cooper, Chapter Chairman of the Central California Chapter of IAPMO.
Introductions
- There were 11 attendees. Chapter
Officers present were Marty Cooper, Chapter Chairman, Sarah Aguilar,
Treasury, and Nathan Vasquez, Secretary. Self-introductions followed by
general networking by the attendees.
Old Business
- Minutes
for previous month were presented and approved
Committee Reports
- Web Site
update given by Don Taylor.
- Treasury
Report given by Sarah Aguilar.
New Business
- IAPMO
& MCA will not be sending out the minutes via USPO. A motion was made
by Phillip Ribbs to have copies of the previous month minutes at the following
meeting for review. This motion was seconded and passed.
- Marty
Cooper spoke on sending a letter to support the IUPC/IUMC working together
to make one code. This discussion was tabled. Dwight Perkins will be
speaking on this subject in November.
- Dan
McEvilly of State Code Compliance voiced concerns about contractors being
issued permits with a signed workmen’s compensation exemption waiver only
to go and then have workers on the job. At a later date it is determined
that the contractor has employees on site.
Discussion was tabled until a speaker from CSLB could attend a
meeting.

of the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute and presented by Gregg W. Carr,
AB&I Product Engineering and Bob Blomberg AB&I Sales

The next meeting will be on September 21, 2006 at
Ricky’s Restaurant in San Leandro,
CA. Program: General code discussion and review to IAPMO Annual Conference.

The Chapter would like to thank Gregg W. Carr & Bob Blomberg with AB&I for the great tour
of the Foundry and also for sponsoring today’s lunch.
