Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 11:50 AM by Sarah
Aguilar, Chapter Chairperson of the
Introductions
Armadillo Willy’s lunch was served thanks to Bob
Hendrickson, Jerry Kliman and Cory Kliman of Kliman Sales and Ira Schumer of
Husky followed by self introductions by the 29 attendees including Mitch Morris
and Jamie McCabe of J.McCabe Plumbing. Chapter Officers present were Sarah
Aguilar - Chairperson, Nate Vasquez - Vice Chairperson,
Old Business
A
motion to approve the minutes for February 21, 2008 passed unanimously.
Nate
Vasquez reported that the Golf Tournament Fund Raiser would be scheduled for
late June at Los Lagos,
Committee Reports
Thanks to Don Taylor for
donating his time to maintain the Chapter Website and Bob Adler for his
generous contribution towards website expenses.
New Business
Marty Cooper distributed stakeholder comment forms
pertaining to the International Residential Code Project discussed in
Phil Ribbs informed us that he is the facilitator of
a 20 member committee to develop a plumbing and mechanical strategy in response
to a request by HCD at the meeting held on March 7, 2008. A meeting is
scheduled for April 2, 2008 and a report will be issued to the State by April
9, 2008.
John Roeber reported on Green Plumbing “The Plumbing
of the Future”. Eight states are currently on board and more information can be
found at www.greenplumbersusa.com.
Sarah Aguilar informed us of Green Classes being
offered at the Local 393 Joint Apprenticeship Training Center on April 2, 2008
at 11:30 AM with lunch. The contact person is Cindy Amaral at 408 453-6330.
Sarah Aguilar suggested sending 3 people to the
Denver Technical committee Meeting.
Presentation:
Ira Schumer with Husky Technologies gave a very
informative 50 minute presentation on the history of cast iron and Husky bands.
It was both thorough and entertaining.
There was no raffle this month Thank you, Sarah
Aguilar with Southland Industries, Mo Salberg of KDS Plumbing, Jamie McCabe of
J.McCabe Plumbing, Phil Ribbs with PHR Consultants, Bob Hendrickson, Jerry
Kliman and Corey Kliman of Kliman Sales and Ira Schumer of Husky Technologies
for your donations.
Announcements
Corey
Kliman announced that his Company’s Facilities would be available as a resource
center and offered its use for training and meetings.
The
next meeting will be on April 17, 2008 at the Waterfront Restaurant in
Adjournment
