Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM on Thursday November 20, 2008 at Ricky’s Restaurant in San Leandro by Sarah Aguilar, Chapter Chairperson of the Central California Chapter of IAPMO.

Introductions

Self introductions followed and there were 16 attendees. Chapter Officers present were Sarah Aguilar – Chairperson and Mo Salberg – Secretary.

Old Business

The minutes of September and October 2008 were approved as presented.

Sarah Aguilar gave the treasurer report for Don Wadsworth who was absent.

Sarah then reported on the 1-17-09 Installation Dinner at the Doubletree in San Jose for Nate Vasquez who was absent.

Upcoming calendar – there were some good suggestions offered by Tony Amable and Marty Cooper for future speakers.

New Business

Nominations for the 2009 Board took place. Steve Silber was nominated for Secretary, Mo Salberg for Treasurer, Don Wadsworth for Vice Chairperson and Nate Vasquez for Chairperson. All were elected by a white ballot. Congratulations!

Lunch was served at 12:20 PM.

A discussion followed concerning strategies for raising funds in 2009. Suggestions included a seminar and a mini expo.

Discussion

Phil Ribbs reported on the Standards Council Meeting held on November 13^th and 14^th. Results of the meeting are posted on the IAPMO website beginning Monday, November 24^th.

Presentation:

There was no presentation this month.

An open forum followed. Subjects discussed included PEX pipe and its current status with the Building Standards Commission.

Raffle

At 1:00 PM a raffle was held resulting in 6 lucky winners. Thanks for the prizes provided by Greg Hill, Phil Ribbs, Sarah Aguilar, Bob Osborne, Mo Salberg and Carl Cimino.

Announcements

At 1:07 PM Chairperson Aguilar announced the next meeting will be on at the Waterfront in Redwood City on December 18, 2008 at 11:30 AM.

Don Taylor with Dittmann Plumbing will be having a State Water Heater Presentation at their shop on December 10^th at 5:30 PM open to all. For more information see the enclosed flyer or visit the CCC IAPMO website.

Adjournment

Chapter Chairperson Sarah Aguilar adjourned the meeting at 1:08 PM.
